The Ellipse Montessori Academy Concept

Children are the focal point of our school. They represent the responsible adults of tomorrow. As parents, we want our children to be able to achieve on their own and to develop in the best possible conditions. Their learning years should be a combination of knowledge, interpersonal skills and know-how, in addition to the obtaining a solid academic foundation. Our aim is to develop the bilingual Montessori approach in Paris, the results of which have already been proven. Our ambition is to assist children in developing their imaginative and flexible abilities, while also educating them about the anticipated challenges of tomorrow’s world.

Our Story: One Family, One Vision, The Right Team

As soon as our first children were born, twins who were curious about life, we became interested in Montessori pedagogy. Having both received a conventional school education, without any real fulfillment, we wanted a different educational model for our children. Our priority was to have children who were happy to learn and to go to school! Children who were open-minded!

After 3 years in Children’s House, the question arose of what to do next. While we weren’t enchanted by the idea of going into the classical school sector, we were worried about staying in a Montessori school. From studious reflections to fascinating encounters, we decided to create Ellipse.

From the start we have been surrounded by a motivated, dynamic, and competent teaching management team. As parents, we run Ellipse as a professional family school.

Ellipse was created around common objectives:

  • A school where children are happy to come in the morning
  • A “responsible” Montessori program: Montessori pedagogy combined with a solid academic foundation.
  • A bilingual program enabling children to continue their studies in France and abroad.

As parents and entrepreneurs, we were looking for skills that were complementary to our own to co-create this project.

Various meetings and research led us to open the first elementary class on September 12th, 2017, along with Emmanuelle and Anna who would respectively become our pedagogical director for 3- to 11-year-olds, and our coordinator for 2- to 6-year-olds.

The following year, as the floors filled up, the team expanded. Karima joined the elementary team (6- to 11-year-olds), before orchestrating the program and the opening of the Ellipse Middle School in 2021.

All 3 have chosen the Montessori pedagogy for all, or part of their children’s schooling.

Together, the management team works to make the project a constant reality. We are committed to continuous improvement and to creating the right conditions for teachers. Our mission is to help children grow up in peace and fulfill themselves with solid academic skills to attract and train talent. We also aim to support parenthood through open and constructive dialogue.

Why Ellipse?

The Ellipse (bilingual word) is a symbol of the virtuous circle to which we are attached. In Montessori, an ellipse is drawn on the floor in the 3- to 6-year-old classrooms. By walking on the line, children work on their concentration, balance, and independence, one step after the other. It is also the place where children gather. It illustrates the reassuring home in which children are invited to communicate with mutual respect.

From this, Ellipse was born!
