The Academic Committee
Karima
Head of Academics and Middle School Director
Karima joined Ellipse in 2018 as an educator in the elementary class. Trained in educational sciences and psychology, and holding AMI 3–6 and 6–12 diplomas, she pays particular attention to continuity of learning and to the development of each child.
Drawing on her elementary experience, in 2020 she took charge of creating the middle school programme. She designed a curriculum combining active teaching methods with the requirements of the French national curriculum, and has led the middle school since it opened in 2021.
Today, her role extends to academic leadership across the whole school. While running the middle school, she helps ensure a coherent path for students from primary to high school, bringing Ellipse’s different teaching approaches into dialogue.
Christine
Middle School Academic Coordinator (ages 11–15)
After passing the French primary teacher recruitment exam (CRPE), Christine taught in primary school for seven years, then retrained to support middle school students requiring individually adapted learning. Her six years in public secondary education strengthened her conviction that demanding teaching must also take each student’s needs into account.
Part of the Ellipse middle school since its creation, she helps build a stimulating and caring environment where academic knowledge goes hand in hand with autonomy, cooperation and the development of a wide range of skills. A French-speaking educator and the middle school’s academic coordinator, she also holds an AMI 12–18 certification.
Stefania
IGCSE and IB Programme Coordinator, High School
Holding a PhD in history, a PGCE from the University of Cambridge and a research master’s in education from the University of Oxford, Stefania combines a strong academic background with experience of international teaching in the United Kingdom and several European countries.
Her career has led her to teach history and literature and to hold academic coordination roles in international programmes. At Ellipse, she coordinates the high school’s IGCSE and IB programmes and supports the teams in implementing them. Her approach fosters a spirit of inquiry, critical thinking and cultural openness, preparing students for the demands of higher education.
